Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
1. Scope
These Terms and Conditions govern the booking of escape room services offered by Rubikon Escape Room ("Rubikon") through its website escaperubikon.com and the EscapeUp Booking System (EBS), provided by EscapeUp (escapeup.es). Making a booking constitutes full acceptance of these terms.
2. Bookings and payment
Bookings are made in the booking calendar on our website, which runs on the EscapeUp Booking System (EBS), except for The Room 745 (see section 7). The price of each session, VAT included, is the one the booking calendar shows when you choose it; each room page lists the rates by number of players.
To confirm a booking you pay a €20 deposit online when you book, using the payment methods offered by the booking system. The rest of the price is paid in cash at the venue. If you book with a gift voucher, whatever the voucher covers is already paid for: section 6 applies.
Bookings made and paid for through our previous booking system keep the terms they were made under.
A booking is confirmed once the deposit is received and a confirmation email is sent. Without a confirmation email, no place is reserved.
3. Cancellations and changes
- Refunds: once a booking is confirmed, the deposit is not refunded.
- Changing the date or time: accepted with at least 72 hours' notice before the booked time, at no extra cost.
- Less than 72 hours: no date or time changes are accepted, and cancelling means losing the deposit.
- Fewer attendees than booked: you pay the rate for the number of people who turn up, and the deposit counts towards that price.
- No-show: the deposit is forfeited.
- If we cancel: if Rubikon has to cancel the session for reasons on our side, we refund the deposit or, if you prefer, move the booking at no cost.
- Tickets bought through third parties: Rubikon does not accept refunds or date and time changes on tickets purchased through outside platforms. These must be handled with the seller, under their own terms.
For cancellations or changes, contact us via WhatsApp at +34 915 59 57 08 or by phone at +34 915 59 57 08.
4. Arrival and punctuality
Please arrive punctually at your booked time, which is the expected arrival time at the venue and includes the introduction. If your group is late, the playing time is not extended, as there are other groups after you. Rubikon is not responsible for playing time lost due to the customer's late arrival.
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your booked time, Rubikon may cancel the session; it is then treated as unused through the customer's own doing, with no right to a refund or a change of date.
5. Participation conditions
- Participation by minors is subject to the age limits stated for each room. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult where the conditions of the room require it.
- Rubikon reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone showing signs of intoxication, drug use or inappropriate behaviour, with no right to a refund.
- Some rooms have their own safety conditions, shown on their page, and Rubikon may refuse entry to anyone who does not meet them. In The Plague, anyone who is pregnant, has a pacemaker or suffers from claustrophobia may not take part, and heels, necklaces, rings and other jewellery may not be worn during the game. If any participant has epilepsy, they must check with Rubikon before booking.
- Food and drink are not allowed in the rooms.
- The rooms contain physical and interactive puzzles. Rubikon is not liable for damage resulting from improper use of room elements.
- Forcing, damaging or removing any element of the room is strictly prohibited. The customer is liable for damages caused by misuse.
6. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase, and each one is for the room and the number of players chosen when it is bought. If it is not renewed within that period, the voucher expires with no right to a refund. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and are not refundable once purchased: as a leisure service with a set period of use, they carry no right of withdrawal (article 103.l of the Spanish consumer protection law, TRLGDCU). To redeem a voucher, the recipient must book through the usual system, entering the voucher code.
A voucher is paid in full when it is bought, so booking with it does not need the €20 deposit. Players can be added, up to the room's maximum, or the room changed by paying the difference, and the voucher's date can be renewed before it expires. All three are arranged in good time on WhatsApp or by email to info@escaperubikon.com.
Vouchers bought through our previous booking system keep the terms they were sold under, including their 12 months' validity. The current booking calendar does not recognise them: to use one, message us on WhatsApp or call us on +34 915 59 57 08.
7. Group policy — The Room 745
The Room 745 is not booked through the calendar: it is arranged by WhatsApp, by phone or by quote, both at our venue and at the client's premises. In both cases, the conditions agreed in the accepted quote apply. These include, among others, minimum and maximum participant numbers, how and when payment is made, and the cancellation deadlines specific to this game. For off-site sessions, they also cover space requirements, travel, and set-up and dismantling logistics.
8. Liability
Rubikon Escape Room is not responsible for personal items lost or mislaid during sessions. We recommend leaving valuables in the locker or storage provided before entering the room. Rubikon has the appropriate equipment and safety measures to ensure the physical integrity of participants during the game.
9. Photos and videos
The customer authorises Rubikon to use photographs or videos taken during the session for promotional purposes, provided participants are not identifiable or have given explicit consent. If you do not wish to appear in promotional material, please inform the Game Master before the session.
10. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you book as a consumer, you may bring any claim before the courts that consumer law entitles you to use (if you live in Spain, those of your place of residence).
